New York Aquarium Mural

I was one of the 6 finalists for the 2017 New York Aquarium Mural Competition, sponsored by the Wildlife Conservation Society. The theme was minimizing plastic pollution in the ocean.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, if our current method of using and disposing of plastics continues, there could be more plastic than fish (by weight) in the ocean by 2050.

With this in mind, I wanted my mural design to highlight simple, everyday tips that would encourage people to reduce plastic waste. My hope was for the infographics to inspire passers-by and beach-goers to incorporate these small changes, which could lead to a collective shift in how we use and dispose of plastic.
